Domain Authority – How Well Does Your Website Score?
As a blogger and small business owner I am very aware of my brand and am always trying to gather as many metrics of my websites as possible.
We have talked about PageRank in the past and domain authority is similar but different.
What is Domain Authority?
Moz.com created the metric: Domain Authority.
The domain authority number represents Moz’s best prediction about how well they think your website or blog will rank in search engines.
Domain Authority (DA) is a search engine ranking score developed by Moz that predicts how well a website will rank on search engine result pages (SERPs). A Domain Authority score ranges from one to 100, with higher scores corresponding to a greater ability to rank.
Domain Authority is calculated by evaluating multiple factors, including linking root domains and number of total links, into a single DA score. This score can then be used when comparing websites or tracking the “ranking strength” of a website over time.
You can view a website’s DA by using MozBar (a free Chrome-extension), Link Explorer (a backlink analysis tool), the SERP Analysis section of Keyword Explorer, and dozens of other SEO tools across the web.
How is it different than Google PageRank?
Domain Authority is calculated out of a score of 100 (instead of 10) and predicts how well your website will rank on any search engine.
Google PageRank only ranks how well you will rank on Google.

I’m also very curious about how my site is performing, and had no idea there was a search rank checker like this. Thanks for sharing!
I find it difficult to know what is a good figure and what isn’t for domain authority, but I like the fact that it’s updated regularly.
