The Superbowl is famous for many reasons and one of them is certainly the fact that husbands all over the nation will be taking over the television for a good part of that Sunday.
Some women, myself included, enjoy watching football, but there are many out there who do not.
If you are looking for a fun new way to gain some more exposure to your business, or a way to capitalize on the Superbowl Advertising wave why not try and throw a virtual Superbowl party of your own?
There are a few different ways I can think of to go about doing this and I would love to hear your ideas as well.
If you have a business that offers products and can spare a few to giveaway than this would be a fun time to host a virtual giveaway party. You could use facebook, twitter or even your own blog to post questions or games that your followers can join in on to win prizes. Hide secret words or messages around different pages of your blog for those participating to find. This is a great way to get more hits on your site. Have participants help you get more likes on your facebook page by sending your friends to ‘like’ you and leave a comment with who sent them. The most referrers could win a prize. I’m sure you can think of some other fun way for them to earn prizes as well.
Make Your Own Ad
If you have a video recorder (even your smartphone) you can create your own video advertisement. People are looking forward to watching fun commercials during the Superbowl so why not create your own? Just make it fun and short and ad some quirky music to it. Most computers come with basic video making software and smartphone even have apps for it. Upload the video to Youtube or Vimeo and share from there. You can do this all for free and capitalize on the fun-commercial-desires that many have during the Superbowl.
Pin Your Heart Out
Even though I like watching football I still find myself browsing Pinterest during these games because that is usually more entertaining for me. I bet this is the case for many women so Pinterest will probably be very busy during the Superbowl. Prepare ahead of time with blog posts that you think will be attractive. Maybe healthy recipes (we tend to pig out during the Superbowl), Valentine’s Day ideas (it’s right around the corner) or fun activities for your children (they’re probably bored halfway through the first quarter) will be good ideas to promote. This is a great time to take advantage of bored women with smartphones.
