I’ve had two blogs and a handmade business; now I’m looking to start a small brick and mortar business with my husband. We’re practically paralyzed by all the information that we don’t know! That says to me that there is a lot left to be written. I’ve yet to find what I am really looking for–a business blog that lays out the basics and beyond in a simple, straightforward, and interesting way.

Getting Started
It’s hard to get started when you don’t know what you don’t know! After your first genuis idea, what do you do next in starting a business? And next after that? Who do you call, what professionals do you need to hire?

This is something I constantly worry about; I imagine liability to be a monster waiting to attack and destroy us from the least expected quarter. Ok, maybe I’ve read about too many ridiculous lawsuits, but seriously…what things need to be considered in protecting a business?
Lawyers
What kinds of lawyers are there? What kind does a business need? How is a reasonable range of potential costs? How do you find a good one?
Funding
Do you have experience with Kickstarter, IndieGoGo, or another crowdfunding platform? Tell your story, whether successful or a cautionary tale. Do you have a business loan? Did you start your business with your own savings? These are things would-be business owners want to know!
