Upwork- Upwork is formerly known as oDesk. They have work available in an array of categories including graphic design, virtual assisting, game development, web content writing and public relations. As with Freelancer, you set the price you want to get paid. However, it is important that you don’t set your rate too high or you may not get hired. Some clients on Upwork pay by the hour while others pay a decide to choose a fixed rate job, be sure they are reputable. If you are new to the site, it may take a bit to start getting hired for jobs. However, you can do things like take some skills tests and upload a resume so clients can see your skills. Once you start getting hired, you will build up your profile. People Per Hour- People Per Hour allows you to create a profile and then look for jobs that are available. Some of the jobs that you come across may be entry level while others may require experience. Once you find a job that you are interested in, you can submit a proposal. It is free to register with People Per Hour, but you are only allowed to submit 15 proposals each month for free. If you want to submit more than 15 proposals, you can purchase credits in order to do so. People Per Hour pays you by PayPal or bank transfer.

Guru- Guru is a freelance site that offers a wide range of freelance work. For instance, some of the jobs offered on Guru include Windows Server Network Specialist, Children’s Book Illustrator, Marketing Strategist, Article Writer and SEO Expert. The way it works is that individuals or companies can choose to hire you directly through Guru to work for them. When you first sign up on the site, you can create a work profile that will showcase your skills to potential clients. When you are given a project on Guru, you are paid after you have completed the work. There are several ways in which you can choose to get paid including PayPal. SafePay, wire transfer and check. Guru has a basic membership which is free but allows Guru to take 10% of your total earning. There are other paid memberships available that are billed to you annually but takes a much less of a cut of your earnings.
